Dhanteras 2019: Date, time, puja vidhi, shubh muharat, mantra and muharat to shop for gold and silver

Dhanteras officially marks the start of the festival of Diwali. it's celebrated two days before Diwali and this year it'll be celebrated on 25th October. On today people buy gold and silver and worship God Kuber. We spoke to Pt. Manav Jaitly who provided his valuable inputs.

As most of the people are going to be busy buying Diwali on today , the puja are often done either within the evening or late in the dark .

Worshipping Lord Kuber is taken into account very auspicious on today . to try to to the Dhanteras pooja, take a copper Kalash (urn) or if you are doing not have one, you'll also use a Kalash made from mud. Put the silver coins you've got (you also can put one coin) and fill the Kalash with water.

Now put a Kesar tika on the Kalash and chant ‘Om Kuber Namah’. The puja should be done sitting within the North direction as North is that the direction and water and it's where Devi Lakshmi is claimed to reside.
